The Lord is my Shepherd

Some words of encouragement for the tough times...

Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honour to His name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid,
for You are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
you honour me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 3 says:

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! 

Many are they who rise up against me.

Many are they who say of me, 

"There is no help for him in God." Selah

But You, oh Lord, are a shield for me,

My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

I cried to the Lord with my voice

And He heard me from His holy hill.

...

What I'm realising is that God is SO ultimately sovereign and victorious, that He calls us to love our enemies. He loves them, He seeks to show them mercy and kindness.. And He wants us to be like Him, at the ultimate cost. Oh what a glorious opportunity it is to be called to share in His sufferings...

Glory to God on high, the Lord of hosts, King of all kings and Lord of all lords..
